Re:      New Substitute Intake Procedures

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher for the Winthrop Public Schools.  If you would like to be placed on the Substitute List for the 2008-2009 school year, please follow the procedures below.

 

Please fill out an application, along with a copy of your transcripts, resume, CHRC results or proof of fingerprinting appointment registration and mail it or bring it to the Superintendent’s Office:

A Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) (fingerprinting) approval, granted by the Maine Department of Education, is required for all staff, including substitute teachers.  If you have not been fingerprinted previously, you will find information on how to get your CHRC approval on our website www.winthropschools.org  Look for the “fingerprinting information” link on the left side of the home page.

 

Other important information:

 

·         You must have a minimum of 60 credit hours to be considered as a substitute candidate.

·         Your daily rate of pay is based upon the number of credit hours you have (60 – 119 hours: $60/day, 120 hours or more: $70/day)

·         Please contact the Superintendent’s Office if you have any questions.
